Educational Support
The TAD Charitable Foundation operates two distinct educational support programs serving public elementary and secondary school students (Grades 1β10) in Timbo, Guinea. Both programs launch in the 2025β2026 school year. The Academic Excellence Award recognizes top academic performers; the Need-Based Scholarship funds school supplies, uniforms, and emergency food for students from economically disadvantaged households.
An annual recognition program celebrating the top 5 students in each grade level (Grades 1 through 10) at Timbo's public elementary and secondary schools, based on final year-end GPA. Winners are determined automatically from official school rankings β no application is needed.
Each grade level receives a total award pool of $330 USD, distributed among the top 5 students as follows:
| Rank | Percentage | Amount (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| π₯ 1st place | 33.33% | $110 |
| π₯ 2nd place | 26.67% | $88 |
| π₯ 3rd place | 20.00% | $66 |
| 4th place | 13.33% | $44 |
| 5th place | 6.67% | $22 |
| Total per grade | 100% | $330 |
Note: The total per-grade amount may be adjusted from year to year based on funding availability, but the number of recipients per grade (5 students) and the percentage distribution will remain constant.
An annual financial aid program that helps Timbo students from economically disadvantaged households purchase school supplies, uniforms, and emergency food so they may attend and succeed in school without being forced to choose between education and basic needs.
Award amounts are variable and determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the severity of need, the grade level (and corresponding expenses), and the total funds available for the program cycle. The number of scholarships awarded each year is flexible and scales with donor support.
Funds are typically disbursed as supplies purchased on behalf of the student, or to the parent/guardian with required receipts. Cash is never disbursed directly to minors.
