Grants, Projects & Community Stories

Every grant we disburse is a promise kept. Below are the ongoing projects and completed grants that have been funded by the TAD Charitable Foundation — each one representing a real person, a real family, or a real community in Timbo, Guinea and beyond.

Completed Grants

Grants already disbursed to individuals and families across the Guinean community — in reverse chronological order.

AYK Olympiades 2026 — Timbo
April 2026 $1,470

From Zero to 124 — The Olympiad Transforming Timbo

Before the Association Yirde Koudeko (AYK) created the Olympiades de Timbo, the national exam pass rate in Timbo was zero. After year one: 120 admitted. After year two: 124. For the third edition — April 29 to May 2, 2026 — the TAD Foundation funded the full $1,470 budget, covering meals for 133 students over 4 days, prizes for top performers, and teacher stipends.

Housing for Kokiya's Health Worker
April 2026 $1,875

A Home for Kokiya's Only Health Worker

Fara is the sole health agent for the Kokiya district in the Timbo Sub-Prefecture — a husband, a father, and the first call for hundreds of families at every birth, fever, and midnight emergency. The community started building him a 2-bedroom residence but ran out of funds halfway through. The TAD Foundation approved $1,875 to complete the work in two phases: wall plastering and a concrete entrance step (Phase 1), followed by a hand-crafted geometric wood ceiling with octagonal panels and carved diamond accents (Phase 2). The residence is complete. Fara is permanently on-site.

Medical grant for Maka Pierre
February 2026 $200

A Retired Professor's Medication

Maka is a 77-year-old retired professor from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Conakry who taught generations of students from Timbo. Living with arterial hypertension, he applied for help buying his monthly medication. We approved a one-time grant — and hope to make this support monthly, subject to funding availability.

Medical grant for Aissata
February 2026 $500

Medicine or Food — No One Should Have to Choose

Aissata, 75, a daughter of Timbo, cares for her paralyzed husband in Conakry while managing her own diabetes and hypertension. With a pension of $30 a month against $50 in essential expenses, she faced an impossible choice every month. Our $500 medical grant ensures she can attend her consultations at Hôpital Ignace Deen without compromise.

Ramadan food grant for Binta
February 2026 $200

She Asked. We Said Yes.

Binta, a 52-year-old daughter of Timbo living in Conakry, earns $35 a month while her expenses reach $240. She did not wait to be found — she applied to the TAD Foundation herself, with quiet dignity, for help preparing Ramadan meals. Our $200 emergency food grant gave her the space to fast in peace.

Ramadan food grants for 33 elders
February 2026 $7,065

Fasting with Dignity — 33 Elders Supported

For Ramadan 2026, the TAD Foundation supported 33 indigent elders in Timbo, Guinea with emergency food grants totaling $7,065. Most were elderly women living on as little as $20 a month. Every grant was delivered in person, directly into their hands — no intermediaries, no bureaucracy, just dignity.
